412 - 432, 1990

"412 - 432 is  a photographic journey along the river Rhine by night. The numbers indicate the Rhine kilometres between which the pictures were taken. Zeller's riverscapes, photographed with long exposures up to 1 ½ hours, capture nocturnal details which normally would remain invisible even to the keen eyes of an attentive observer. The artificiality of the man-made environment finds its direct counterpart in the artificiality of the end product, the photograph.”

Martin Stather, curator at the Kunstverein Mannheim, 1990

The project includes 50 images. The original works were printed on C-print, 40 x 60 cm (15.75 x 23.6 in.) in an edition of 10.
